Sherlock Holmes is arguably the greatest detective of all time. There is not one fictional character that has been as prodigious. How many other fictional detectives have had the success?

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes is such an inspiration. I was originally introduced to the character through Old Time Radio (OTR). I would wait for Bedtime with Barney to go off on Sunday nights for a chance to hear Sherlock Holmes on the radio. My nights were always made when the great detective made his debut.

I was lucky enough to have parents that encouraged my love for the fictional character. My mother always encouraged us to read so she had no problem buying me books, cassette tapes, and VHS’s. I was amazed that Doyle had created such a complex and captivating character. Doyle made me want to become a writer.

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

Doyle is a titan in the literary world. Imagine creating a character that lived forever. Generation after generationh has been fascinated by Sherlock Holmes. So many people have tried, but failed to duplicate the great detective. The legacy Doyle left behind is remarkable.
