It’s time to make your money work for you and know where it’s gone versus wondering where it went. I know I can’t be the only one in a significant amount of debt and feeling like I’m drowning. I did the cash envelope system in 2020 and I’ve finally brought it back. I’ve already saved $1,000 over two paychecks.
I’ve always been the girly that likes to plan and budget, but I’ve never sucked to it. The cash envelope system allows me to stick to the budget that I’ve set. The video above ⤴️ shows how I utilize the cash envelope system, and my binder set up.
At the end of October I will update my debt tracker and show how much has been paid down and my current debt total. Starting debt is $17,824.97, this doesn’t not include student loan debt.
Quarterly Goals
I know I’m not the only one who wants to spend the final quarter of 2024 wisely. I want to end this year with a bang and reach some of the financial goal I’ve set. This quarter I want to add $3,000 to my 100 Envelope Challenge, which saves about $5,050. I would love to finish the challenge but I think that may be a bit too ambitious. I have nothing saved for Christmas so I’ve set a goal of $500. The most important goal I have is to stick to the budget that I’ve set for myself. Now don’t get me wrong my budget is not set in stone and I’m still figuring out what works especially with fluctuating gas prices and the cost of food. I just have a goal to stay within a certain limit in certain categories. I allow for a little bit of wiggle room for my variable expenses like groceries, gas, and farm expenses. What has worked for me is to keep $100 in a buffer envelope that can go into any of those categories.
A little encouragement to help you keep things in perspective!
