Do you remember life before the internet?
When I was growing up we didn’t have cable or internet. I remember having this large antenna outside that one person had to twist while someone in the house yelled for you to stop when you finally got a signal. Now my 5 year old has every show imaginable at the tips of her fingers. I’m amazed that she knows how to use the phone and smart TV so well.
I definitely didn’t have that growing up. I think I was in middle school by the time we got dial up. Who remembers using LimeWire?
I honestly miss those times. Now it seems like most of us can’t function without the internet. I have days where I say no phones and no TV. I’m fortunate to live on a farm and have a little one that loves being outdoors. I try to make sure there’s a balance of both. I’ve read various articles about screen time needed to be limited the younger you are. I definitely don’t want my baby sitting around playing video games for hours and hours.
