What jobs have you had?
My first job was at Panera Bread. I worked with this company for almost ten years. I started with them when I was 15 and met a lot of amazing people.
When I went off to college I worked at a Golf Course in Naples. I did a brief stint serving but after spilling a tray of drinks on a patron they put me outside to be a cart girl. I did this for about a year.
I then did a very brief stint at Starbucks. I probably lasted a few months. When I went off to grad school I worked on a food truck, where I also ended up in court over. The link to that story is here.
After the fiasco of being on probation I worked at my grad school as a Metadata Coordinator. It was very tedious and mind numbing work, but I made some great connections and had some amazing opportunities.
After grad school I applied for almost 109 jobs and had three interviews before I got a job as a Scientist II making $36,000 a year. Looking back I don’t know how I survived. That job did help me land a job in the same field with a significant pay increase.
I transitioned from being an underpaid state worker to working in a lovely county doing similar work as a, Senior Environmental Scientist. While in this current position I gained the most important title of all, Mother. I’ve been at this job for 5 years now and it has been the most challenging and the most rewarding.
